 I'm originally from Florida but I've just recently moved here to Charlotte and am happy to call it home now! I've been involved with animals all my life and have over seven years of experience working in the Veterinary field. My journey started with an education in Agriscience-Biotechnology and Vet Assisting at Frank H Peterson, where I began my career as an Animal Attendant. I then worked as a Veterinary Assistant for four years and most recently spent three years in a privately owned general practice as the lead Veterinary Assistant back in Florida. Additionally, I'm actively involved in community efforts like Trap-Neuter-Release programs, fostering, and rescue work. Plus, I'm Fear Free certified in Animal Handling and Grooming!

Outside of work, I love painting, gardening, and exploring the great outdoors with my two dogs, while my two cats prefer to spend their afternoons napping. I'm passionate about creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all fur babies and look forward to continuing to care for and nurture our beloved pets with all the love and dedication they deserve.

Hi everyone! My name is Nyquaisha, but feel free to call me Ny!

I’ve been proudly part of the Vetsitting team for almost three years and have about six years of experience in the veterinary and animal care field. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in general practice, urgent care, and ICU settings, which has given me the opportunity to care for pets with a wide variety of needs.

Most of my hands-on experience is with dogs and cats, but I’ve also cared for rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, turtles, and other animals. I’m comfortable administering oral and injectable medications, insulin,  subcutaneous fluids, using inhalers, and caring for senior pets as well as those recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. No matter what a pet’s needs may be, one of my biggest priorities is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while their family is away.

My love for animals has always been a huge part of who I am, and it continues to shape my future. I’m currently in school completing my prerequisites with the goal of transferring to NC State in spring 2029 to continue pursuing my education in large-animal veterinary medicine. I love continuing to learn more about animals and their care, and I bring that knowledge and compassion with me to every visit.

At home, I have a dog and a horse named Rain, who both mean the world to me. When I’m not working, studying, or caring for animals, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, dancing, and getting out to the skating rink.

Hi!  I’m Angela L.

I have been in the veterinary field for a total of 22 years. I have held the title of RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) for the last 10 years, having graduated from Gaston College Veterinary Medical Technology program in 2013. I have had the privilege of working at small animal hospitals in Texas, Colorado, and North Carolina. I have now called South Charlotte home since 2006. 

I caught a bug for Veterinary medicine as a teenager in South Louisiana, where I assisted our horse veterinarian. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, ferrets, geckos, hedgehogs, snakes, and even the late "Queen Charlotte", the city of Charlotte's  royal groundhog. I love the variety of animals, their unique personalities, and the surprising predicaments they get into that we see every day in practice. Orthopedic and exploratory surgeries are the procedures that most interest me.

Outside of work, I volunteer as a dog walker with the Humane Society of Charlotte, tutor elementary school students in reading, sail on Lake Norman, and run in the woods. I also enjoy relaxing with my family and Stephen, our very vocal black cat.

Hey there, my name is Kayla O. 

I’m 22 years old, originally from New York, and I moved to North Carolina when I was young. I've been here for about 17 years and proudly call it home!

I’ve been working in veterinary medicine for 5 years, starting as a kennel tech and progressing to a veterinary assistant. In 2025 I graduated from Gaston College Veterinary Technology Program and have passed my boards, offically earning the title of RVT. My experience spans doggy daycare, general practice, and urgent care. I'm fear free certified and skilled at using techniques to help shy or anxious pets feel comfortable.

I have two dogs of my own: Toby, a pittie mix, and Eloise, a standard poodle. I also foster puppies, so I often have little visitors until they find their forever homes. In my free time, I love reading, baking, relaxing with my dogs and watching movies, or taking my dogs on new hiking trails and finding new places for Eloise to swim!

Hello everyone! My name is Ivy T.! 

Originally I am from Winston Salem but have called Charlotte home for the past 5 years. I  graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Biology, focusing on environmental science. I have been in the Veterinary field for over 3 years now and currently I work as a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Assistant in general practice with experience working in Urgent Care as well. I've had the pleasure of working with a variety of different species and particularly enjoy participating in surgeries and procedures. I’m excited to continue growing in this field and to care for your cherished pets. 

My passion for animals, which I inherited from my mother, drives me every day. My household is home to 8 parrots, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 geckos, an axolotl, and a horse. Its safe to say I am experienced with exotic pets as well! In my free time, I indulge in my growing plant collection and enjoy walks with my dog.

I've been in the veterinary field for 3.5 amazing years, and I can honestly say that every day is a new adventure. I absolutely LOVE what I do and every single animal that I meet! 🐾

Born and raised in both South and North Carolina, I’ve had the pleasure of being surrounded by all kinds of animals my whole life, and that’s where my passion really started. I have a special bond with felines and large breed dogs— But don’t get me wrong, the smaller pups definitely get all my love too! ❤️

I have worked in both holistic and general practices, but I do currently work in an independent practice and have proudly earned the hospital name as the "Cat Whisper" I plan to be starting school in the Spring to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. I am fear free certified for both the people and the pets and I couldn't imagine practicing and pet sitting any other way! 

At home, I’m a proud foster failure (yes, I couldn’t help myself!) to a sweet three-legged Siamese named Sinki and if that wasn’t enough to keep me on my toes, I also have a feisty orange tabby named Nemo, and a sweet tortoiseshell named Samoa. Oh, and I can’t forget Tucca, my bearded dragon he’s definitely the most “chill” of the bunch, but he keeps things interesting in the best way. 🦎

Hi! My name is Isabel.

I currently work as a Veterinary Assistant at a local animal hospital. My passion for animals goes all the way back to third grade, when I was visiting Puerto Rico—where I’m originally from—and took horseback riding lessons. Spending time with the horses and watching their equine veterinarian work made a lasting impression on me. Since then, pursuing a career in animal care has been my one and only goal.

I began my journey in the field at a boarding  and daycare center, where I worked for about two years. From there, I transitioned to a veterinary clinic, working as a veterinary assistant for nearly two more years. I recently moved to North Carolina in April and have absolutely fallen in love with Charlotte.

During my time in the veterinary field, I’ve gained experience with fear-free handling techniques, aftercare for critical diagnoses, nail trims, fluid administration, injections, and much more. Hi! My name is Malinda, but my friends call me Mal. 

I'm originally from Maryland and just recently moved to the area. I grew up with cats and birds, and I’m now a proud mama to three cats and one dog that I absolutely treasure.

I’ve been working in veterinary medicine for the past six years, with experience in everything from boarding to general practice—but my heart has always belonged to shelter medicine. I love all animals and have experience with dogs, cats, exotics, some farm animals, and even wildlife, but caring for the homeless, abandoned, and mistreated pets is what truly warms my soul.

I’m certified in both dog behavior and Fear Free handling. At my previous shelter, I fostered many terminally ill, disabled, and medically complex pets. I became known as the “hospice nurse” because I was always willing to take in the ones who needed the most love at the end of their lives. Providing them with comfort, dignity, and a true sense of home was one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done.

Born and raised right here in Charlotte, I’ve been working in veterinary medicine since 2020. Since I was a kid, I’ve always known I wanted to work with animals—or pursue the arts. Today, I’m lucky enough to do both! I currently work as a veterinary assistant and am earning my bachelor’s degree in Game Art Design through Full Sail University.

My journey started as a kennel assistant, then progressed to technician/PCA, and finally to veterinary assistant. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinics, including corporate, private practice, and urgent care. What fuels my passion the most is building real connections with both the client and their pets. I truly believe pets are our personal fur children, and when they trust and enjoy being around you—that’s how you earn a client’s trust, too. Helping to nurse them back to health is what I love most.

I’m originally from Miami, Florida, but I’ve lived in North Carolina for the past ten years and am a nursing student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. I currently reside in Uptown Charlotte with my significant other and our 2 dogs and 2 cats, we definitely enjoy the city life!

I have five years of experience as a veterinary assistant—two years in general practice and three years in emergency care. This work has deepened my love for all animals and strengthened my commitment to their well-being. It’s also equipped me with valuable skills such as recognizing signs of illness, administering medications, and handling animals with care and confidence—skills that are especially beneficial when it comes to pet sitting.

 I’m originally from the beautiful island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where my passion for animals began at a young age after seeing so many island strays in need of love and care.

My veterinary journey started at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and continued at North Carolina A&T State University, where I graduated in 2023 with my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Over the years, I’ve gained experience working at a pet resort, volunteering throughout college, and interning back at home in St. Thomas & St. John over the summer. I also pet-sat for two years while in school, which gave me the chance to build lasting bonds with so many different pets. Since graduating, I’ve worked at several veterinary hospitals including an emergency clinic, which has helped me become well-rounded in caring for pets in all situations.

In the clinic, what brings me the most joy is creating real connections with pets, treating them like family, and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable every step of the way.

Outside of vet med, I enjoy thrifting, fashion, traveling, exploring new places, being crafty, and listening to favorite music & artists. Having lived and traveled in several different states as a military child, I love the diversity of experiences and people I’ve gotten to meet, and I’m excited to bring that same warmth and energy into this community. Hi, I’m Mya!

I’m a Charlotte native who’s been working in the veterinary field for over five years as a veterinary nurse. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a deep passion for helping animals and making sure they receive the best care possible. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in both general practice and emergency settings, where I’ve been able to monitor and assist in surgeries, perform dental cleanings, and provide routine yearly care.

I’m Fear Free Certified and a proud member of the North Carolina Veterinary Response Corps, which allows me to help animals in the event of natural disasters. I have a special interest in neonatal and geriatric care — I even fostered and tube-fed eight golden doodle puppies from the time they were one hour old until eight weeks, when they were ready to go to their forever homes.

When I’m not at the clinic, you can usually find me exploring with my young daughter, getting creative with crafts, or spending time outdoors.I can’t wait to meet you and take great care of your furry family member!

Hi there! I’m Sarah! 

Caring for animals has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, and moved to Florida with my mom and brother when I was 10. In 2018, I made my way to beautiful NC, and have loved calling it home ever since.

My veterinary career began in 2009, shortly after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. At the time, my mom owned a boarding facility and had a great relationship with a local veterinary hospital, where I started working while figuring out my next steps. It didn’t take long for me to realize how much I loved the work — caring for animals, learning new skills, and being part of a team that felt like family.

In 2013, after transitioning to another clinic as a Practice Manager, I completed my Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I truly valued that experience, but I realized that world just wasn’t for me.

Since then, I’ve built a strong foundation in animal care, behavior, and wellness. What I love most about this work is forming real connections — with both pets and their people. I bring my veterinary background to every pet-sitting visit, but with the added bonus of getting to focus on what I love most: spending quality time with your furry family members and giving them all the love and attention they deserve.

Hello, I’m Kai!

I was born and raised in Charlotte and have a developed a strong sense of community here. I bring a calm, confident approach to pet care and have experience working  with a wide range of pets, including those that are reactive or require extra patience and understanding.

I currently work as a veterinary assistant in a general practice and have been in the veterinary field for around two years. I initially entered veterinary medicine in a reception role, but quickly discovered a passion for hands-on patient care. My responsibilities in the hospital vary day to day and include taking radiographs, administering vaccines, assisting with  procedures, and monitoring and recovering surgical patients. I practice only Fear Free handling techniques and am FelineVMA (Feline Friendly) certified. I plan to return to school in the near future to pursue my veterinary technician license.

I genuinely enjoy my role and find fulfillment in every opportunity to care for animals. Around the time I began working in veterinary medicine, I adopted a cat with multiple chronic illnesses. That experience sparked a deep interest in chronic pain and long-term illness management and reinforced my belief that every pet deserves a high quality of life, as well as to be treated with dignity and respect.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two cats, Lil’ Scrip and Scotch, and visiting my family dog, Morpheus. Throughout my life, I have cared for a wide variety of species, including fish, reptiles, birds, small mammals, cats, and dogs of all sizes. I am passionate about working with all animals, value the experience I have caring for exotic species, and look forward to providing thoughtful, attentive care to Vetsitting clients’ pets.

Hi, I’m Molly M! A true Southerner hailing from South Carolina, I’ve been calling the Charlotte area home since 2012. My lifelong love for animals truly began in the third grade with my very first pet, the legendary M.C. Hamster. Building on that early passion, I have dedicated over a decade to the field of veterinary medicine—which is roughly 70 in dog years—earning me the title of a truly "seasoned veteran" in pet care.

My professional journey began with meaningful volunteer work at The Humane Society of Charlotte, which led me to a two-year role as a Client Service Coordinator at a sepecality veterinary hospital in the Lake Norman area. Driven by a desire to be more hands-on, I cross-trained as a Veterinary Assistant—a role I absolutely love as it allows me to expand my clinical knowledge while working directly with patients.This evolution from the front desk to the treatment floor gave me a unique perspective on both the medical and human sides of pet care, ensuring that both the animals and their owners feel heard, understood, and supported.  My experience has centered on the dedicated care of hospitalized patients and those in medical boarding, where I administered a wide range of oral and injectable medications. I truly find my stride in the operating room; there’s a unique fulfillment in being able to assist in surgery.  I have extensive experience in urgent care and specialized procedures such as chemotherapy, physical therapy and orthopedic surgery. This background makes me a great fit for patients with more complex needs.  

I have since become fluent in two new langues, both "woof and "meow". I’m a firm believer that a little extra peanut butter and a lot of belly rubs can solve almost anything. When you head off on that well-deserved vacation, your pets won't just be "checked on" by a sitter—they'll be having a blast with their bff Molly. I take my clinical experience into your home to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and thoroughly pampered while you're away. Hi, I’m Jasmine, but most people call me Jazz, or Jazzy! I’m originally from Durham, NC, born and raised. In 2015, I moved to Raleigh, where I earned my degree in Veterinary Technology in 2017. After living there for about 8 years, I relocated to Charlotte in 2023 to be closer to my newly found sister.

Animals have always been a passion of mine since I was a kid, and that love has grown into over 10 years of experience as a veterinary assistant. I’ve worked closely with dogs and cats, and also gained experience with exotic animals during my time in tech school. I’m very comfortable with handling, medicating, and giving injections, and I also have experience in emergency veterinary settings, which has strengthened my attention to detail and ability to recognize when a pet may need extra care.

As a petsitter, I’m playful, calm, and loving. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and extra spoiled while you’re away.

I have a Yorkie named Mia who is super smart and full of personality, she even knows a few tricks I’ve taught her! I’m a North Carolina native, and animals have always been at the heart of my life. From a young age, I was the person bringing home stray animals, learning everything I could about pet care, and finding comfort in the company of furry friends. Over the years, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to turn that lifelong love into a career caring for pets professionally.

I’ve worked in the veterinary field for the past five years and began my journey through an apprenticeship program at a nonprofit dedicated to helping animals receive the care and compassion they deserve. Since then, I’ve continued growing as a veterinary assistant and have developed hands-on experience caring for pets in both routine and medical settings. My experience includes safely administering medications, SQ fluids, monitoring patients during procedures and recovery, and supporting animals through stressful or unfamiliar situations with patience and gentle care.  

As a Fear Free Certified veterinary professional, creating a calm, gentle, and

positive experience for pets is extremely important to me. I know firsthand that every animal has their own unique personality, comfort level, and needs. My own little crew includes Minnie, my nervous but lovable chihuahua, and Zero, my sweet kitty with FIC. Because of them, I understand how stressful new people, changes in routine, and unfamiliar environments can sometimes feel for pets. Hi! I’m Kelley.

I received my RVT license from Baltimore College in 2007 and have over 15 years experience working in animal medicine. I moved back to the East Coast in the summer of 2023 after living in Austin for over 15 years. While in Texas I worked in small animal practices, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. I semi-retired to raise my son but am now back to working at a local veterinary hospital. 

I’ve always loved animals and knew becoming an animal nurse was what I was meant to do. I have the patience and compassion necessary in caring for animals when they are sick or scared. I have a lot of experience pet sitting and will treat your pets as if they were my own.

I currently have 3 English Cream Golden Retrievers, 2 cats, a turtle, and 2 crested geckos. I am an active person who loves being outdoors.  My hobbies include tending to my ever growing collection of plants, gardening, hiking, swimming, and making sure my pets are getting all the attention they deserve. I love to travel and by far one of the greatest experiences I’ve had was going to Kenya and assisting in the treatment of wild elephants and giraffes.

Hey! My name is Ivy B.

My passion for animals started when I was young, always trying to rescue or care for animals whenever I could. After high school, I attended Alamance Community College, where I earned my associate degree along with certificates in Animal Control and Animal Husbandry. During that time, I worked at a local animal shelter, which quickly became something I truly loved. That experience inspired me to continue my education and pursue becoming a veterinary technician so I could do even more to help animals in need.

I later attended Central Carolina Community College and graduated in 2024 with my associate degree in Veterinary Technology. Shortly after graduating, I began working in emergency veterinary medicine, which I’ve really enjoyed. I love that veterinary medicine is always evolving, and I’m constantly learning and growing in the field. Between school and hands-on experience, I’ve been working in veterinary medicine for about five years now, with experience in shelters, general practice, and emergency clinics.

As much as I enjoy the fast pace of emergency and shelter medicine, I also realized that some of the pets I might see in the ER are pets I could potentially help care for before they ever reach that point. Through pet sitting, I’m able to use my veterinary background to help pets stay comfortable and stress-free at home while giving owners peace of mind knowing their fur babies are in experienced hands. I have experience administering medications, giving fluids, caring for post-operative patients, and handling a variety of special medical needs.

One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is building connections with both pets and their owners. I love sending updates, photos, and videos—especially when I can capture a funny or silly moment. It means so much to me to help owners feel at ease while they’re away and to make sure their pets feel loved, safe, and cared for. I look forward to getting to know you and your furry companions!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and being near the water when it’s not too hot. I’m also trying to travel more, although I hate being away from my three boy cats for too long—Cheese (orange), Voodoo (black), and Carlos (black and white). I’m originally from Maryland, but I’ve called Charlotte home since 2019. I’ve worked with animals professionally for nine years, beginning at my local animal shelter, but I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! Moving from the shelter into critical care has given me experience caring for all types of pets, including those with complex medical needs. After relocating to Charlotte, I helped open a busy emergency hospital and have spent the past six years working as a veterinary assistant in the ER and ICU.

My passion within Vet Med has always been patient comfort and fear-free care. I am Fear Free Certified with a special interest in feline behavior, though I value all pets equally—dogs, cats, and everything in between. My experience has taught me to recognize subtle changes in behavior, pay close attention to detail, and communicate clearly with pet parents. Hi! My name is Terri.

I’m originally from Richmond, Virginia, and most recently lived in Virginia Beach before relocating to the Charlotte area. My love for animals started when I was a child. One of my parents wasn’t particularly fond of animals, so having pets wasn’t really an option growing up. The moment I moved out on my own at 17, I got my first dog, and I’ve been passionate about animal care ever since.

That passion led me to begin my career working in kennels and doggy daycares, where I eventually stepped into leadership roles and gained valuable hands-on experience caring for pets of all personalities and needs. A few years ago, I transitioned into veterinary medicine, where my knowledge and passion for animal care expanded even further. I am Fear Free Certified and was recently recertified in May 2026, allowing me to use low-stress handling techniques that help pets feel safe, comfortable, and secure.

One of my favorite parts of both veterinary medicine and pet sitting is building trust with animals and forming lasting relationships with their families. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to provide the same love, patience, and attention they receive at home.

When I’m not caring for animals, you’ll usually find me cooking, spending time with my dog, curled up with a good book, or attempting a craft project I found on TikTok. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing them with compassionate, dependable care while you’re away!

Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them isn’t just my career, it’s truly my passion. My husband and I currently share our home with four dogs (including two long-term fosters), four cats, two horses, and a bearded dragon. They keep life busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for over nine years, gaining experience in general practice and caring for pets with a wide variety of medical and behavioral needs. I’m Fear Free Certified and have extensive experience working with senior pets, puppies and kittens, pets requiring medications, and dogs with behavioral challenges, including fear, reactivity, resource guarding, bite histories, and guardian breeds.

One of the things I value most is taking the time to understand each pet as an individual. Whether your pet is energetic and outgoing or shy and needs a little extra patience, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I believe every animal deserves compassionate, low-stress care, and I treat each one as if they were my own.

Hi, My name is Tammy!

My passion for caring for animals began in 2013 when I joined a large, well-established veterinary practice in the Lake Norman area. I started as a Veterinary Technician Assistant, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience caring for hospitalized pets, assisting with post-surgical recovery, and learning to recognize the unique needs of dogs and cats at every stage of care. I later transitioned into a receptionist role, where I continued building strong relationships with pets and the people who love them.

After moving to Maryland to be closer to family, I spent seven years working at two wonderful general veterinary practices, expanding my knowledge and experience while continuing to provide compassionate care and exceptional client service.

I’m thrilled to be back in the Charlotte area and excited to continue doing what I love—caring for pets. I’ve had my share of pets with medical conditions that required medication and extra care. I’ve had a diabetic dog AND cat, an asthmatic cat (with his own inhaler!) and a dog with epilepsy. Whether your pet needs a dependable companion while you’re away, medication, extra attention, or simply lots of love and affection, I’ll treat them as if they were my own.

At home, I’m the proud mom of an orange tabby named Plato, who completely stole my heart. I can’t wait to meet your beloved pets and share the patience, compassion, and extra love that caring for animals has brought into my life.

Hi, my name is Maddie!

 I’m a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVTg) from Fayetteville, North Carolina. I originally earned my Associate of Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College with plans to pursue a career in human medicine. However, after taking a job at a doggy daycare at 18, I discovered my true passion was working with animals.

That experience led me to North Dakota, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from North Dakota State University, along with minors in Chemistry and Zoology. After graduation, I spent five years working at an incredible emergency veterinary hospital, where I gained extensive experience caring for pets in both routine and critical situations.

I recently moved back to the Charlotte area, within the last 2 years,  to be closer to my family while continuing to expand my knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine.

My education and hands-on experience allow me to provide more than just pet sitting—I can recognize subtle changes in a pet’s health or behavior, administer medications when needed, and ensure your pets receive knowledgeable, compassionate care while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family members are in experienced and caring hands.

Hi, I’m Sydney!

My love for animals has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, so it felt pretty natural to turn that love into a career in veterinary medicine. I started working in the veterinary field in 2021, and it has been such a rewarding part of my life ever since. I recently moved to the Charlotte area from New Hampshire, and I’m excited to start putting down roots here and get to know more of the local pet community!

Through my work in veterinary medicine, I’ve had the opportunity to care for all kinds of animals with different personalities, ages, breeds, and medical needs. I’m comfortable giving medications, managing special diets, monitoring pets who need a little extra attention, and making sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking with my own dog, Luna. I’m also a proud pet mom to two cats and a ball python, so animals are definitely a huge part of my everyday life!

I know how hard it can be to leave your pets when you’re away, because they’re family! I want you to feel confident knowing they’re being well cared for, getting plenty of love and attention, and sticking to their normal routine as much as possible. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and figuring out what makes them feel most comfortable.

Hi there, my name is Sena.

My love for animals started when I was a kid, begging to take home the stray cat or crying when someone squashed a bug. Every creature has a special place in my heart, and I always knew I wanted to make a career out of caring for them.

I have worked with animals in a professional setting for the last 10 years, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I started this career  in doggy daycares, where I was able to build strong foundational skills needed to provide exceptional pet care. Understanding the way animals communicate with us and each other, following specific meal time instructions, medication administration, nail trims, keeping the play areas clean, all the basics. While there, I became fascinated by canine psychology and naturally I became a dog trainer.

This is where I really learned the importance of treating each pet as an individual - each of them have their own little personalities, quirks, and motivations, and it still brings me so much joy to learn all about them. I worked with dogs of all ages and backgrounds, from 8 week old puppies learning their very first commands, to dogs in their “terrible twos,” newly adopted pups trying to figure out their new lives, and senior dogs. Fun fact: you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, it just takes persistence and a few more treats! My favorite memories as a dog trainer are helping the anxious and more reactive pups build confidence and trust, and witnessing them come out of their hardened shell - it was often a slow process, but so very rewarding. 

After that, I went into the medical field. I knew that Fear Free techniques were important and necessary to me after obtaining my certification, and I made sure to seek out clinics whose staff was also certified. I started out in a spay/neuter/vaccine clinic, where I was able to help the low-income community provide their pets with the care they deserved. This is where I learned the technical abilities that I have now, like administering subcutaneous injections and fluids, monitoring vitals and anesthesia, sterilization, and postoperative and incision care. I will always be grateful for that experience. I then moved to a general practice to refine and broaden my skill set - taking X-rays, running labs and additional diagnostics, and all about pharmacy. Now I am confident in ability to provide only the best care for every pet I meet. I have been lucky enough to care for my own fur babies - a chihuahua named Glorp, a diluted tortie named Gertrude (she’s my old lady) and 2 jumping spiders named Calypso and Venus. 

Outside of work, you’ll find me playing Dungeons and Dragons, video games, reading a fantasy book, or attempting a DIY craft. Give me all the nerd stuff! 

I can’t wait to extend all that I’ve learned over the years to your fur babies as well, and build my own special bond with them.
